The concept evolved from researching the site’s history and a growing interest into sentiment, narrative and nostalgia in places and objects. I then combined these concepts with the “power of plinthing” and arrangment and how somethings context can be completely changed through hierarchy and positioning; focusing on different material relationships and boundaries.

The problem:

Display logistics in the shop, quick product life time, curational and aesthetic ability.

The process:

I researched the sites history and found it used to be an old goods yard. I then used goods yard methodologies and forms to inform the display systems and materiality.

The solution:

A carriage display mechanism which moved around the space in a track like system, this enables a boundary and platform for the staff to curate displays on, as well as allowing easy storage and logistics.
